Spicy Chicken Yum Tum 🍗

Life has meaning when you are doing things to help others, so extend yourself and try to lift someone up. Whether that means being a better friend, helping those in need, or supporting causes that mean something special to you, when you make a difference, your life will become more meaningful. Make a difference but first start by making this mouth watering chicken and see the difference 🥰…

I love this small explosion of flavour on a rainy day .. this is loved by kids and adults alike, perfect as a starter to a cozy dinner.

Happy cooking ♥️

Ingredients:

Chicken bite-sized pieces – 250 gms

For marinade :

Flour – 1/4 cup

Chilli powder – 1/2 tsp

Salt -1/2 tsp

Oil for frying ( If not baking )

Yum Tum Sauce (for tossing )

Unsalted butter – 2 tbsp

Any thick hot sauce – 1/2 cup

Black pepper – a pinch

Garlic powder – a pinch

Salt – if needed

Method :

Marinate chicken pieces in the marinade ( flour, chilly powder and salt ). Refrigerate for one hour ideally. (At least 20 mins)

Fry the chicken pieces until lightly golden and keep aside.

In a sauce pan, add all the Yum Tum sauce ingredients, stir and heat until butter is blended and sauce thickens slightly.

Toss the fried chicken pieces in the sauces. Strain excess sauce from the chicken pieces, by placing the coated pieces in a slotted spoon or colander. Serve hot. Garnish with minced spring onions.

Add a pinch of ♥️:

Make it with chicken wings.

Add garlic powder and onion powder into the marinade.

Instead of frying bake the chicken for 25 mins @ 200 C, baste with sauce, again bake @ 150 C for 15 mins until done. Toss with sauce and serve hot.

I prefer the chicken slightly coated and not soggy, but double the sauce if you want to have it as a side with rice ! Enjoy !

Sareeka ♥️
