The Devour Me Churros😋

Maybe the journey isn’t so much about becoming anything. Maybe it’s about unbecoming everything that isn’t really you ..so you can be who you were meant to be in the first place ! Doesn’t that make sense ? Do we all start getting worldly wisdom when we hit 40???

I was getting annoyed with my friend who told me I need more clarity in what I want to do and my retort to him was .. is clarity available in a shop??? Where do I buy it 😀??? And then you have an angel in the form of a sister who reminds you .. we won’t get clarity from where we stand, but in what direction we are moving. We must sail sometime with the wind and sometimes against it – but sail we must, and not drift, nor lie at anchor. The future is not just some place you are going to, but it is a place you are creating, and the paths to it are not found, they are made. Follow your passion as long as you live, and on this road you will gain clarity. And on this road to happiness is there anything better than to be armed with freshly baked Churros crunchy on the outside and soft in the inside rolled in cinnamon

sugar 😋???

I love love love this recipe ! Enjoy baking ♄

Ingredients :

Unsalted Butter – 1/3 cup

All purpose flour – 1 cup

Milk – 1/2 cup

Water – 1/2 cup

Pure Vanilla extract – 1 tsp

Beaten egg – 1

Salt- 1/4 tsp

Sugar – 1 tsp

Cinnamon powder – 1/2 tsp (optional)

Coarsely powdered sugar to coat – 1 cup

Method :

Preheat oven to 175 C.

In a medium saucepan combine butter, water and milk. Bring to boil over a medium heat.

Remove from heat and add flour. Stir quickly with a wooden spoon to combine. The mixture will thicken and start to resemble mashed potatoes.

Add a beaten egg into the mixture.

Add Vanilla.

Combine. Cool slightly.

Spoon mixture into a piping bag fitted with a large star tip. Lightly grease some grease proof paper and line a baking tray.

Pipe rows of mixture with atleast 2 cms distance between each churro.

Bake until golden, until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, 15 to 20 mins.

Roll the done Churros in a mixture of cinnamon and sugar. Serve warm.

Add a pinch of love ♄:

If you are feeling indulgent, once you pipe the Churros onto the baking tray, freeze it for 10 mins. Fry in a flavourless oil until golden, roll in cinnamon sugar and serve warm with a luscious chocolate dipping sauce. Soooooo goooood 😋
