You don’t have to be great to start but you have to start to be great !
And if you have never made pizza from scratch before…. this recipe couldn’t get easier. Now you have no excuse to order a pizza when you can make a pizza in 30 mins from scratch.
All Purpose Flour – 2 1/2 cups
Instant Yeast – 1 tbsp
Warm water – 1 cup
Sugar – 1 tsp
Salt – 1 tsp
Olive oil – 2 tbsp
Pizza Topping :
Store bought pizza sauce – 1 cup
Parmesan Cheese – 1 cup
Mozzarella Cheese – 1 cup
( increase or decrease the cheese as per your liking )
Combine all the pizza base ingredients with a wooden spoon and rest for 20-25 mins for a deep pan pizza.
Preheat the oven to 200 C.
For a thin crust pizza after mixing the dough, grease two 12 inch pizza pans with olive oil . Then grease your palms and spread out the sticky dough gently but as thin as you can to fill the pan. Do note you don’t need to wait for the dough to rise. Add parmesan cheese first to the base, then add pizza sauce and then mozzarella cheese and bake for 25 mins until done.
Garnish with fresh basil leaves.

Make your own pizza sauce by blanching tomatoes and reducing the sauce on a slow fire with olive oil, minced garlic, red pepper flakes, oregano, sugar, salt and cayenne pepper to taste .
Or for lazy cooking like mine.. I combine pizza sauces .. I am never happy with any one. So adjust flavour with different sauces to get the flavour you want.
Drizzle olive oil over the pizza before baking so the topping doesn’t dry out !
Let this be your base pizza recipe and add pepperoni/ bacon bits/ smoked ham/ shredded chicken/ mushrooms / peppers / caramelised onions . The one in the picture I have added smoked ham bits .
