Brownie Valentina❤️

Of late I wake up every morning knowing the recipe I want to post. Today being Valentine’s Day I was thronged with all the decadent chocolatey treats I could think of. So I happened to ask my BFF in Australia what she would choose, and she without hesitating chose BROWNIES.

So this recipe is dedicated to my Valentina ❤.

Ingredients:

Butter – 1/2 cup
Castor Sugar – 3/4 cup
Eggs – 1 large
Pure Vanilla extract – 1 tsp
Cocoa powder – 1/4 cup heaped
Flour – 1/2 cup
Salt – 1/4 tsp
Baking powder – 1/4 tsp

Method :

Grease an 8-inch square cake tin and dust with cocoa. Shake off the excess powder.

In a saucepan, melt 1/2 cup butter over a low flame. Remove from fire ( cool for a bit, if you are worried if the egg will curdle ) and stir in sugar, slightly beaten eggs, vanilla. Stir in sieved cocoa, flour, salt and baking powder.

Spread batter into prepared pan and bake for 25 mins until done. Prepare the glaze while the brownie is baking.

Valentina Glaze

Butter – 2 tbsp melted
Cocoa – 2 tbsp
Icing sugar – 1/3 cup heaped
Pure Vanilla extract – 1 tsp
Milk – if needed, to get a spreading consistency .

Method :

Stir all the ingredients together to make a spreadable consistency.

Spread the glaze onto the brownie when it’s still warm, wait for it to cool and cut into squares.

Add a pinch of love ❤ :

Add chopped walnuts after spreading the glaze on the brownie. Substitute pure vanilla extract with some liqueur like Tia Maria to make it more decadent.
