Chorizo Tulip Toasties 🍖

This is my go to recipe when you have visitors coming over at a short notice. You can put in any filling of your choice as long as it’s a dry filling and doesn’t make the bread soggy.

It looks far more fancy and more difficult than it actually is.

You can make it sweet or savoury.

Ingredients:

Bread slices – 12
Grated Mozzarella cheese – 1/2 cup
Grated Parmesan cheese – 1/2 cup
Bottled Marinara Sauce – 1/4 cup
Diced Chorizo – 2 or 3
Melted butter – 2 tbsp
Mixed Italian seasoning – 2 tsp

Method :

Preheat oven to 175 C

Cut ends of the bread and flatten it using a rolling pin.

Take a cup cake baking tray and gently push the bread slice in the middle, so it takes the shape of a tulip. Give the tulips a butter wash. ( Brush with melted butter)

Spoon some Parmesan cheese , then add the diced chorizo, Marinara sauce mixed with the Italian seasoning and finally top it with mozzarella cheese. Fill all 12 tulips ( if it’s a 12 cup cake tray of course ) this way.

Bake in a preheated oven for 20 mins until edges of the tulip turns golden. Serve hot .

Add a pinch of love❤️ :

Lightly fry the chorizo in its fat and keep aside. Use this to spoon into the tulips.
