No store bought cookies can ever replace the homemade chocolate chip cookies. You will wonder why you bother buying cookies, when you can so easily make these heavenly cookies with all the regular ingredients from your pantry.
The only thing you need to remember is they flatten out a lot and they continue cooking even after they are taken out of the oven.
This is a fool proof recipe, so enjoy the deliciousness at home.
Makes 40 cookies.
All purpose Flour – 2 1/4 cups
Baking powder – 1/2 tsp
Baking soda – 1/2 tsp
Salt – 1/2 tsp
Unsalted softened butter – 1 cup
Castor Sugar – 3/4 cup
Brown sugar – 3/4 cup
Vanilla Extract – 1 tsp
Eggs – 2
Chocolate chips (semi sweet ) – 1 1/2 cups
Preheat oven to 175 C.
Sieve the first four dry ingredients and keep aside .
Beat butter, sugar, brown sugar, vanilla until creamy .
Add eggs one at a time. Beat well .
Gradually beat in the flour mixture .
Stir in chocolate chips.
Take ungreased baking sheets and drop spoon full of cookie dough onto it. Make sure there is ample space between the cookies as they flatten out much more than we think .
Bake for 10 to 12 mins, until the cookies are golden and the aroma fills the room and your heart swelling ❤️.
Cool for 2 mins and then transfer to a cookie rack . Store in air tight containers.

The texture of a chocolate chip cookie is a personal choice. Some like it chewy and some like it crisp . Bake for lesser time ( say 10 mins ) if you want it chewy and bake for a longer time ( say 12 mins ) if you want it crispier.
Always remember the cookie is still getting cooked after taking it out of the oven and when it’s resting on the cookie sheet. So take care to remove the cookies from the baking sheet after 2 mins .
